Scuba for Freedivers in Siquijor

Already love the ocean? Discover another way to explore it.

Keep the freedom you love about freediving and add a new perspective: breathe through scuba equipment, move at a gentle pace and spend time observing the reef with an instructor beside you. Visiting from Manila or elsewhere in the Philippines? Make a guided first scuba experience part of your Siquijor trip.

No certification needed · Small groups · Free underwater memory photos

A booking request is not a confirmed reservation. We confirm availability, arrangements and the required deposit.

Your freediving experience is welcome.

Freediving and scuba offer different ways to enjoy the same ocean. You do not have to choose one over the other. Your awareness of the water is a useful starting point, and we take time to teach the equipment and procedures that are new to you.

A different rhythm

Observe reef life while breathing normally through your regulator, with no breath-hold attempts.

Personal guidance

Patient explanations, shallow-water practice and a small group give you space to ask questions and settle in.

Memories included

Free underwater memory photos, with your comfort and marine life taking priority over any shot.

Try PADI Discover Scuba Diving.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving introduces you to scuba with an instructor beside you. We build on your comfort in the water while teaching the new skills step by step. You can enjoy the experience without committing to a certification course.

  1. Meet and prepare. Complete the required paperwork and medical screening. Discuss your water experience and recent diving.
  2. Learn and practise. Your instructor explains the equipment, continuous breathing, equalization, buoyancy and signals. Practise the required basic skills in shallow water.
  3. Explore when ready. Join an instructor-supervised reef dive if your comfort, skills and conditions allow. There is no pressure to go deeper, and you can stop at any time.

Typical one-dive experience: about 2 hours. Maximum 4 divers per guide, with supervision adjusted for the program and conditions. Read our Discover Scuba Diving details.

Questions before your first scuba dive

Do I need a scuba certification?

No certification needed to join PADI Discover Scuba Diving. This is a supervised introduction, not a certification course, and it does not qualify you to scuba dive independently.

Does my freediving experience replace scuba training?

Your comfort in the ocean is welcome, but scuba uses different breathing, buoyancy and ascent procedures. Every guest completes the briefing, required skills and shallow-water practice before the reef dive.

Can I join if I am nervous or not a strong swimmer?

Tell us about your water comfort before booking. You should be comfortable in the water and able to follow instructions. Your instructor checks readiness in shallow water; the dive can be paused or stopped if you are uncomfortable.

How long does it take, and how deep will we go?

The one-dive experience typically takes about 2 hours. Ask us about timing for the two-dive option. Depth depends on your readiness, age, conditions and the instructor’s assessment, within PADI program limits; reaching a particular depth is never a goal or a guarantee.

Are underwater photos free?

Yes, underwater memory photos are included at no extra charge. Safety and comfort come first, and visibility and conditions affect the photos we can take. A private photo session or camera rental is a separate service.

Can I freedive and scuba dive on the same trip?

Tell your instructor about recent and planned freediving, scuba dives, flights and altitude travel before arranging dates. Do not combine the activities back-to-back or freedive between scuba dives. Follow the surface intervals and no-fly instructions given for your actual dive plan.

Can I come alone or with my barkada?

Solo travelers and friends are welcome. We keep groups small, with a maximum of 4 divers per guide; your instructor applies the appropriate supervision for the program and conditions. Send your group size so we can confirm availability.

What are the participation requirements?

PADI Discover Scuba Diving starts from age 10, subject to suitability, local requirements and instructor assessment. Minors need parent or guardian involvement. All participants complete the required medical screening and paperwork; medical clearance may be required before entering the water.

How do I book, and what if conditions change?

Use our existing booking request form or WhatsApp. Send dates, group size and water comfort, and mention that you are a freediver. A request is not a confirmed reservation: we confirm arrangements and the required deposit. Weather and sea conditions may change the site, timing or date.
