About the IDC Program

The PADI Instructor Development Course is the comprehensive training program that prepares dive professionals to teach PADI courses. Combining the Assistant Instructor and Open Water Scuba Instructor programs, the IDC develops your teaching skills, dive theory knowledge, and understanding of the PADI System.

The IDC prepares you for the Instructor Examination (IE), which is conducted by a PADI Examiner. IE fees (approximately ₱25,000-30,000) are paid separately to PADI and are not included in the IDC course fee.

Assistant Instructor

Foundation Phase

3-4 Days

Prerequisites

To enroll in the IDC, you must meet the following PADI requirements:

PADI Divemaster

Current PADI Divemaster certification or qualifying certification from another organization

Logged Dives

Minimum 100 logged dives with experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation

Age Requirement

18 years of age or older

Medical Clearance

Current medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months

CPR & First Aid

Emergency First Response Instructor certification or qualifying training within 24 months

Training Record

Certified as a diver for at least six months with no training standard violations
